Raman Singh should appear at Binayak Sen's trial. He clearly knows something that the prosecution has been unable to establish in court.
Raman Singh has been claiming that Binayak has had "close relations with the people associated with the naxal movement". If Raman Singh isn't lying, how has his government failed to prove the case against Binayak in court in twenty four months? Like all the other witnesses who actually cared to come forward and not turn hostile, he too would probably tie himself up in contradictions under cross-examination.
Binayak is apparently a "non-issue" in the "lanes and bye-lanes of Chhattisgarh". Yes, I'm sure all those whom Binayak's work saved from malaria, malnutrition and death are profusely thanking Raman Singh for keeping their doctor in jail. Their silence speaks louder than words.
Silly me! Why am I assuming that Raman Singh and his government actually have a sense of shame or fair play or justice? Sorry for using these old-fashioned words, I actually meant "good governance" - something obviously in abundant supply in Ramanrajya Chhattisgarh.
